Hi Everyone,
In 2013, Springhouse were invited to be on a compilation called "My Hometown: A Tribute to NJ". The proceeds from the sale of the CD were for the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund.
We were asked to do a cover of any NJ band. Back in the 80's I was a fan of The Bongos. From the time they were a three piece and later on when they added James Maestro on guitar I loved their music and enthusiasm when playing live. I remember picking up the Richard Barone/James Maestro Lp Nuts and Bolts released on the Passport Label in 1983 and produced by Mitch Easter. Each artist got a side of their own songs. On the James side was a last track gem called No One Has to Know. I loved the Velvet's feel to the track and the string section. I knew this was the track to cover.
We gathered in Larry's studio and recorded the track in one day. Obviously, we picked up the pace and turned it into a Springhouse creation.
Larry was recently listening to the original mix and decided toads a new mix and improve the original version. Please give it a listen. I have a feeling it will put a smile on your face. One other thing Larry and James are now friends and are in the same band called The Karyn Kuhl Band. So cool, right?
